Frequently Asked Questions
CHEERS! costs $69.95 per person per day when purchased pre-cruise, or $74.95 per person per day when bought onboard. A 20% service charge is added on top of whichever rate you choose, so the effective cost is about $83.94 pre-cruise or $89.94 onboard. Both 21-and-older guests in the same stateroom must purchase the package.
CHEERS! covers all cocktails, beer, wine by the glass, spirits, bottled water, sodas, zero-proof drinks, specialty coffee, juice, and energy drinks, as long as the menu price is $20 or less. Drinks priced above $20 can still be ordered, but you pay the difference (plus 20% gratuity). CHEERS! does not cover drinks in your room minibar, bottled liquor purchases, 1-liter bottled water, or drinks at private island Celebration Key events.
Yes. CHEERS! is capped at 15 alcoholic drinks per 24-hour period (6 a.m. to 6 a.m.). Non-alcoholic drinks like soda, coffee, and juice do not count against the limit. After 15 alcoholic drinks, you pay full retail (plus gratuity) for any additional drinks until the next 6 a.m. rollover.
The break-even point on a 7-day cruise is roughly 5 to 6 drinks per day at an average price of $12 to $14. If you expect to drink more than 6 alcoholic drinks per day (including coffee, soda, and bottled water), CHEERS! typically saves money. Light drinkers or cruisers who mostly want soda-only should look at Bottomless Bubbles instead, which is significantly cheaper.
Yes. Carnival charges a daily gratuity of $17 per person per day for standard cabins and $19 per person per day for suites (effective April 2, 2026). This gratuity applies whether you purchase CHEERS! or not, and covers stateroom and dining crew. The 20% service charge on CHEERS! is a separate bar-and-dining tip that goes to bartenders, waitstaff, and dining room crew.
